Dear Ward 3 REsident,
We’re less than a week away from the May 10th Ward 3 DFL Convention, and I need your help.
I’m reaching out today because we have a choice to make about the kind of city we want to live in, and who it’s meant to serve. I’m running because I believe Minneapolis can and must work for all of us.
This campaign is about more than politics: it’s about people. It’s about renters who deserve safe, affordable housing. It’s about workers having fair wages and dignity on the job. It’s about families who want to feel secure in their neighborhoods without fear or discrimination. It’s about climate, racial, 2SLGBTQIA+, and economic justice, and how we fight for all together.
I know these issues not from a distance, but from experience. I’m not only a 24-year renter in the Ward, but I also hear it on the phone every week: folks are feeling the pressure. Grocery bills are rising. Rent keeps going up. The cost of living has outpaced wages, and families are being “squeezed” harder than ever. Whether it’s corporate price-gouging, supply chain failures, or tariffs that hit everyday people the hardest. The impacts are real and deeply felt in Ward 3. I’ve spent my life organizing, listening, and building coalitions to take on complicated problems. And I’m ready to bring that same courage, clarity, and commitment to the City Council. Not to manage the status quo, but to challenge it, because it isn’t working for most of us.
I will lead with courage, a steady hand, a thoughtful vision, and a deep belief in our collective power to transform this city into an even better place to live.
Ward 3 is full of people with big dreams and bold ideas. We need leadership that matches that energy, doesn’t flinch under pressure, and doesn’t forget who it’s fighting for. I am that leader. I am the right person for this job because I know I will never lose sight of the values that brought me here.
But I can’t do it without you on Saturday, May 10th.
As a delegate, you have a powerful voice in shaping the direction of our ward and city. I’m asking for your support not just to help me win this race but also to help build a Minneapolis that is more just, more inclusive, and more accountable to the many, not the few.
Let’s build that future together.
With strength and solidarity,
Marcus Mills
